Why Is Aluminum The Best Choice For A Pool Fence?

If you have a pool, you must have a fence. At least, that's what the laws in almost every municipality in America state! What the laws do not always specify, however, is what type of fence you should choose. Although many materials work well in certain cases, the best choice for pool fencing is often aluminum. Here are four reasons why aluminum makes such great pool fencing.

1. It does not rust.

Aluminum fencing can be made to have the look of wrought iron fencing, and most aluminum fencing does have this look. However, unlike iron, it does not rust. This is really important by the pool since pools come with a lot of wetness and wetness tends to accelerate rusting. Aluminum will eventually corrode, but water does not accelerate that process too significantly and painting the fence every few years will keep it looking new and nice.

2. It is lightweight.

Some types of fencing are so heavy that they are tough to install. Iron falls into this category, and so do many types of wood. You can't always maneuver around a pool easily to install fencing, so installing heavy fencing is a bit of a nightmare. Aluminum is lightweight, so if your fencing contractor has to reach around or straddle the pool in some area while installing it, they won't be too burdened.

3. Aluminum is easy to see through.

Although you may want some privacy, it is actually better that you are able to see through a pool fence; this way, you will know if anyone is in the pool and you can keep an eye on them to ensure they are not in any danger. Consider, for instance, if a neighbor's child ends up swimming in your pool. It is better that you're able to see them in there and ensure they don't drown than they are hidden by the fence and unseen when something unspeakable happens!

4. Aluminum does not require much maintenance.

Having a pool alone requires a lot of maintenance. You have to clean it, add chemicals to it, pull the cover off and on, and so forth. The last thing you have time for is more maintenance! And an aluminum fence won't require you to do much. You don't have to seal it or paint it with insecticides like you would a wooden fence.
